pH response and molecular recognition in a low molecular weight peptide hydrogel.
In this article we report the preparation and characterization of a peptide-based hydrogel, which possesses characteristic rheological properties, is pH responsive and can be functionalized at its thiol function. The tripeptide N-(fluorenyl-9-methoxycarbonyl)-L-Cys(acetamidomethyl)-L-His-L-Cys-OH 1 forms stable supramolecular aggregates in water leading to hydrogels above 1.5 wt%. Rheological a...
متن کاملA low molecular weight hydrogel with unusual gel aging.
We describe a dipeptide hydrogel with unusual aging characteristics. Over time, a transformation from a turbid gel to a transparent gel occurs which is initiated from the air-water interface. Here, we investigate this transition and discuss the implications of this aging on the bulk properties of the gel.
متن کاملLow Molecular Weight Heparin Overdose: A 10 Year Case Series
Background: Low molecular weight heparin (LMWH) is used for the treatment and prevention of coagulative disorders. Few patients receiving therapeutic doses of LMWH develop major hemorrhage. Currently there are few reports in the literature on acute overdose on adults. In this study, clinical profile, treatment and outcome of 21 patients who acutely overdosed enoxaparin are described. Method...
متن کاملEntrapment and release of quinoline derivatives using a hydrogel of a low molecular weight gelator.
Gels of low molecular weight gelators (LMWGs) are self-assembled, thermoreversible, viscoelastic materials which can also be rendered sensitive to light, pH or chemical substances by simple chemical modifications. In addition, the ability of some of these LMWGs to gelate water (hydrogelators) makes these gels interesting, new materials for drug delivery applications. In this paper, for the firs...
متن کاملGlucose-cored poly(aryl ether) dendron based low molecular weight gels: pH controlled morphology and hybrid hydrogel formation.
We designed poly(aryl ether) dendron based transparent hydrogels containing glucose moiety, which undergoes in situ transition from nanofibers to spherical aggregates, upon pH variation. The process is reversible and the assembled structures have been characterized by DLS and SEM. More importantly, efficient dispersion of graphene oxide results in lower CGC (0.08 wt%) value and higher mechanica...
